Inherent partners with global risk leader (TÜV) Rhineland Risktec (Risktec) to introduce internationally recognised training courses to support professionals in the Australian and New Zealand Markets.

Inherent continue to increase capabilities to address shortages in the market for their customers. In 2021, Inherent acquired Alberfeild Risk to increase their service offerings and provide an end-to-end solution as a specialised risk consulting firm in the Australian market. The acquisition, now in its 2nd year, has proven to be a successful growth strategy with customers benefiting from the additional assets and resources.

Further to the acquisition, Inherent Managing Director Dr Leah Bishop noticed a gap in face-to-face offerings of specialised training, in particular HAZOP Leader facilitation. “We are seeing an increase in demand for specialised risk assessment and consultancy in Western Australia with the increase in new projects, across Mining, Oil and Gas Industries.”

Dr Leah wanted a proven model to bring into the market to support the HAZOP leaders who require certification to demonstrate their skill set. When looking for partners, Risktec aligned with Inherents’ methodologies and beliefs and the partnership naturally progressed.

Dr Leah continued to state, “Our partnership provides the opportunity for us to share not just only our own knowledge, but that of an internationally recognised company to meet an increasing need for one off HAZOP facilitations that can be done in house’. HAZOP Leaders working on specific projects, can upskill to attain certification, enabling them to conduct in house, HAZOP facilitation.”

Inherent will offer its first HAZOP Leaders course in March 2023 with a view to introducing more than 50 professional development certified courses, including the MSc in Safety and Risk Management.
